The Bridge over the Straits of Messina
The money set aside to build the bridge over the Straits of Messina will be used to construct metro lines and infrastructure in Sicily.
Anyone who states that I have to come to terms with the fact that Sicily and Italy don’t need a bridge over the Straits of Messina, giving the idea that I want this to be constructed, either aren’t familiar with the documents, and that is serious, or they are in bad faith, and that is even more serious, especially if certain positions are coming from the President of the Legambiente {Environmental Group}
To those who want the facts, I remind them that we have de-financed the bridge project, so as to finance that railway and metro work in Sicily and we are the first to know the need for that. About a billion euro was set aside for the Region to be used on the Bridge and this money has now got a final destination, with a written agreement a few weeks ago for the metro in Palermo, Catania and Messina and the connection between Agrigento and Caltanissetta.
All this has nothing to do with the ideological uproar to get rid of what we have today, a company that on its own represents a value of 150 million Euro.
The roughly 500 million Euro that we would have wasted by closing the company and paying the penalties laid down, can be put to better use by doing this construction work that everyone says they want to do and that we are working towards doing.

Lo sentita parlare al Caffe, RAI 3, per un paio di mattine e lo confesso mi e` piaciuto molto mi e` sembrato sincero. Volevo mandarle una lettera per complimentarmi.
Ma dopo ieri, dopo che, anche grazie a lei il governo attuale e quindi il paese si trova in difficolta` ho capito che quello che vuole e`solamente il bene di se stesso.
A lei del paese non importa nulla, lei e` un disonesto e si dovrebbe vergognare. Pur di stare a galla si mette addirittura con Cuffaro.

On. Minister di Pietro,......i couldn't agree with you more, regarding your intervention in parliament for a Government "tecnico" who has an exclusive mandate for a new electoral law.
Also, you "hit the nail right on the head", when you say..you got nothing against the Justice Minister , On. C.Mastella, personally. Right on!
Also, anything you said for keeping this coalition in government for the time being. And, hopefuly, things will change in the not too distance future ,
with people in government capable to make the right decisions and the right laws, including the one that specifie tha nobody is above the law , which supposed to be equal for all.
And after that getting startet to rebuilt the country and solving the ever present problems of security, law and order. Premier Romano Prodi, and Company, i believe they need a vacation, propably around Old ROMAGNA, were to retire and let other younger people to govern the country.
