Mastella’s resignation

I am expressing my human understanding for the affair that relates to the wife of Minister Mastella. It is equally to be appreciated the sense of responsibility and the institutional correctness that led the Minister of Justice to announce to Parliament his resignation. It is a gesture that we are sure will contribute to keeping the atmosphere calm and it will keep the field clear of base instrumentalisation.
Having said that, we of Italia dei Valori cannot but keep our distance from the words pronounced by the Minister, when he talked about clockwork justice, about judges who try to bring down their political foes, or of magistrates who take hostages. We have not tolerated these words when others have used this type of discourse and we cannot accept them now, if we are to be coherent, from the one who is currently the Minister of Justice, even because, when you think this of the Italian Magistracy, it becomes difficult for you to carry out with the necessary balance, a role that is as sensitive as that of Minister of Justice.
Finally, I repeat, even on this occasion, the concept according to which when you have an issue with the system of justice, you have to defend yourself inside the tribunal and not outside.

I feel more "Human Understanding" for the honest people in Italy who struggle to survive on low pensions. My understanding is less for Mastella and wife whose pensions are incredibly high. Apart from a raft of huge benefits already provided, Mr Mastella receives a pension, would you believe, as a journalist. This dates back to when he worked for the total of 300 odd days in that capacity, when he was trying to wedge himself into the RAI system. I think that the human side of things can be left well out of the picture when people like Mastella and nepotistically-appointed sidekick wife have so much unearned (legally) wealth at their disposal. Mr Di Pietro, one appreciates that you are unwittingly classed in the same bag as people like Mastella, but to sympathise even on a human level is simply and wholle inappropriate. If your website advertises "Clean Up Parliament", then stick to your guns and be consistent. It is only too well known among people who read and think for themselves that Mastella is in organised crime right up to his neck. Unfortunately Italy's population is kept ignorant under a "people=cattle" policy from the top down. The media is so manipulated as to make objective journalism in Italy a standing joke. While Italy's members of parliament revel in their scandalous multiple-channel income flows, they all have an axe to grind in protecting not only themselves and their allies of highly dubious moral worth, but even their enemies. Who was it who said "if you stop telling lies about me I'll stop telling the truth about you"?
Antonio Di Pietro: set the example that honest people want to see you set.
