Raiset’s Disinformation
Today I want to go back to the issue of the Authorities, that I talked about the day before yesterday. I have received a sharp reply from one of the Authorities, the one that I feel is the most compromised. It’s Agcom, the Information Authority, a body that should be totally independent, that is made up of persons appointed by the parties, generally former Parliamentarians, some of whom are even rejects. A controller that should control all the controlled ones by whom it has been appointed.
Today they got angry because yesterday I said that these Authorities, just as they are, it would be better to eliminate them because, they don’t serve their function: that of guaranteeing tertiary interests, independence and above all functionality.
Today Agcom has given an angry response, saying that it is carrying out a big task of gathering evidence and controlling the respect of the “par condicio”. It is true, but this is still more serious. It is true that it is gathering evidence with regard to the extent that the “par condicio” is being evaded, violated and outraged by some parties present in the elections, and it is true that this has been brought to light even in relation to Italia dei Valori. In fact, on average, Italia dei Valori has thirty seconds for the thirty minutes that the other parties have. This is something they have picked up, at my request and at my demand. It’s a shame, however, that they haven’t resolved the problem and that they haven’t imposed a remedy. For us we don’t need a doctor who indicates that a tumour exists, but we need a doctor who cures the tumour, the tumour of democracy and the violation of the law.
There are parties, and above all, TV channels, starting with those of the State, that violate the law. There are broadcasts that are in violation of the law as they do not ensure the respect of equal opportunities. There is an Authority, the Authority for Communications, that has this task to ensure the law is respected, that ascertains that it has been violated and does nothing.
Surely on 14 April they’ll say I’m right, saying that they should have done something. But on 14 April the voters will have already voted, and we of Italia dei Valori will not be in a position to give out correct information. For example, the big disinformation that the State TV channels are carrying out, but also the Mediaset channels and other channels, is that of giving it to believe that Italia dei Valori is a party that is not participating in the forthcoming elections. At the next elections, however, this party is there, definitely.
The party is participating in a restricted alliance with the Democratic Party, and as candidate for the post of Premier, it has Veltroni and a single programme. This means that correct information, each time they name Veltroni as candidate for the Premier, they should say that Veltroni is supported by two parties, the Democratic Party and Italia dei Valori.
The RAI always forgets to name it and even worse is Mediaset, because there is no wish to have Italia dei Valori in Parliament, because, and the problem is always the same, because we insist on having a law on telecommunications, that gives greater plurality and independence to the public service and to information. We want a law that resolves the conflict of interests, and we want a law that, in relation to justice, deals with the solid problems of the justice system and not of the chief world systems.
This is why I am turning to the Internet and to you, telling you to pay attention to these things. I have this newspaper in my hand, because there is the usual article by Marco Travaglio who gives information about something that these networks have not spoken. Try reading the article, in which you see how yesterday the magistracy intervened, more than once, with exemplary convictions of people who now will go into Parliament to represent us. But naturally, the big press, the public information of the State, the big information channels forget this. So, for us, we can do no other that use the Internet, and above all, there’s just that Italia dei Valori can go into Parliament as strong as possible, to carry forward these themes of liberty, equality and transparency."

On.le Di Pietro,
Sincerely,
Giovanna
